Fitness Consultation

Duration: 30 min – free of charge


For those who require insight about their fitness levels based on statistical norms provided by the Sports Science Institute of South Africa as well as receiving guidance and support in embarking on a sustainable exercise programme.


A 30-minute personal interview with our qualified fitness specialist* during which various questions pertaining to your lifestyle and fitness levels are asked prior to a short physical test in which specific exercises are used to complete the picture. *Please note that a separate booking must be made for an appointment with a qualified Biokineticist (see CONSULTATIONS Menu).


IMG_0989Upon your request, an appointment is made with our resident fitness specialist to determine your current fitness level and lifestyle. This entails a short questionnaire followed by a series of simple exercises. The net result is quantified in accordance with statistical norms defined by the Sports Science Institute of South Africa and, at your request, a personal fitness-enhancing programme may be outlined for the duration of your stay.

You are then welcome to receive individual guidance (see Personal Training) that will assist you to adhere to your goals as well as provide suggestions on how to maintain an improved level of fitness and wellbeing. During this process, your condition is monitored to ensure that you receive optimal benefit whilst receiving the necessary encouragement to maintain your fitness programme until you return to The Hydro for your next assessment.
