JOIN OUR ENERGISING SUMMER-FIT RETREAT

To align with this brilliant time of year, we have collaborated with Body Sense Studio to welcome Philippa Esmonde-White and Juliet Wells for three, life-affirming and uplifting days of Mindfulness and Movement.

This Summer Fit retreat has been crafted to get your body and mind in the best possible shape for Summer.

Plan well in advance. Book now for the 3-Day Summer Fit retreat from Friday 20 November to Sunday 22 November.

Places are limited, so don’t miss out. All levels of experience are welcome!

From the time you arrive on Friday, you’ll have time to settle into your room and explore the stunning Hydro surroundings, before your Retreat journey will start.

Your days will be jam-packed with guided sessions, both indoors and out.

See the itinerary further down for more information.

Throughout the weekend, you will be led through gentle yoga practices using yogic breathing techniques, a series of gentle Gyrokinesis exercises focusing on spinal mobility and joint articulation, mat Pilates classes to encourage core strength and postural integrity, mindful meditation and free dance.

You will learn about stillness and movement, breathing and mindfulness, reflection and contemplation, exploration and creativity.

The Retreat has been specially designed so that, in your free time between sessions, you can lounge and relax, swim in the eco-pool, walk in the gardens or enjoy some of The Hydro’s wide range of treatments and therapies.

All of this for:  R8 040 (for a Standard Room)

Retreat includes:

  • 2 nights accommodation
  • 6 x meals
  • 6 x juices

Better still, take advantage of our

Bring-a-Friend accommodation offer.

It’s this easy:

Bring a friend and share a room. Starting from R5 940 each (for a Standard Room). That’s a saving of R 2 700 per person!

Philippa Esmonde-White

Pippa began her career as a professional ballet dancer in 1993. She went on to train in various teaching methods including Pilates, Hatha Yoga, Nia, Gyrokinesis® and Gyrotonic®.
The Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic Methods are movement methods that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences.

She also trained in Authentic Thai massage and studied Somatic psychology, which is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both psychotherapy and physical therapies for holistic healing. Pippa uses mind-body exercises and other physical techniques to help release the pent-up tension that is negatively affecting physical and emotional wellbeing.

Pippa opened Body Sense Studio in 2012 in Kenilworth, where she offers personalised lessons to adults and teenagers. Individual sessions are given on the Cobra Pulley Tower, which provides the latest Gyrotonic® method available.

Body Sense Studio hosts regular yearly retreats in various picturesque venues surrounding Cape Town. Some of their past retreats have been focused on Women’s Wellness, Mother Daughter Connection, Elemental Medicine, Rejuvenation, Mindful Movement, Body Alignment, Fitness for Fun and Coming of Age Journeys.
She is passionate about dancing through life and finding a harmonious balance using breath and mindful movement, with light heartedness and joy.

Juliet Wells

Juliet has been a bodywork practitioner for the last 25 years. She uses Reflexology, Reiki and Directed Pressure Point Technique. This technique is concerned with assisting the body to restore the free flow of information where communication has become blocked or disrupted.

Juliet’s work focuses on the restoration of balance and reconnection within the four bodies: physical, mental, spiritual and emotional.

She also qualified as a Hatha yoga instructor at Ananda Kutur Ashram in 2008. Yoga is her life!
